Omertà (/oʊˈmɛərtə/, Italian pronunciation: [omerˈta])[a] is a Southern Italian code of silence and code of honor that places importance on silence in the face of questioning by authorities or outsiders; non-cooperation with authorities, the government, or outsiders; and willfully ignoring and generally avoiding interference with the illegal activities of others (i.e., not contacting law enforcement or the authorities when one is aware of, witness to, or even the victim of certain crimes). It originated and remains common in Southern Italy, where banditry or brigandage and Mafia-type criminal organizations (like the Camorra, Cosa Nostra, 'Ndrangheta and Sacra Corona Unita) have long been strong. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omert%C3%A0 ] The rationalized-barbarity remains nothing more and nothing-less than barbarity. Where civilization employs justice, barbarity employs the "law of the jungle". Where civilization employs truth, barbarity employs "the art of dishonest retorics" [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_of_Being_Right ] Where civilization in order to prospere employs the hard and honest work, barbarity employs the hashish. Where civilization employs honest and peaceful, dialog and cooperation, barbarity employs settler-colonialism and piracy. The barbarians are human-beings the lives of which, are sacred and invaluable, thus they are destined, some time in the future, to live long, creative, free and happy lives. The time when this shall happen depends entirely upon the barbarians themselves, meaning it shall happen when they shall stop doing the worst they can in order to postpone their true prosperity. Covering up an unpunished crime means becoming complicit to it “A cover-up is an attempt, whether successful or not, to conceal evidence of wrongdoing, error, incompetence or other embarrassing information. In a passive cover-up, information is simply not provided; in an active cover-up, deception is used. The expression is usually applied to people in positions of authority who abuse power to avoid or silence criticism or to deflect guilt of wrongdoing. Perpetrators of a cover-up (initiators or their allies) may be responsible for a misdeed, a breach of trust or duty, or a crime. While the terms are often used interchangeably, cover-up involves withholding incriminatory evidence, while whitewash involves releasing misleading evidence”. [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cover-up ] Knowledge is vital. Misguided people can think that some wrong things are right, even murder (John 16:2). Second, the Bible teaches that there are different types of conscience. Knowing what is right and acting upon it, either in rejection or in submission, are what determine the type of conscience a person develops. Hebrews 5:14 describes the good conscience of the spiritually mature “who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.” They know what is right and heed it. As they practice, they become more sensitized and more skilled at identifying what is right and what is wrong. On the other hand, Ephesians 4:18-19 indicates that those who do not discern good and evil do not “because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality.” With practice, refusing to act on the truth becomes a habit and hardens a callous over moral sensitivities. Eventually, the person quits trying to resist certain temptations. It is like the adulteress of Proverbs 30:20. “She eats and wipes her mouth, and says, ‘I have done no wrong.’” If she feels remorse, her own words self-teach her conscience that its evaluation is incorrect, so guilt feelings go away. In this way she becomes less able to distinguish wrong from right. During our days, sadly, the reword for treason has been enormously risen above the value of thirty silver coins.
There have been, the assassinations of, Patrice Lumumba, Rauni-Leena Luukanen-Kilde, Bernd Seiffert, Archib. Christodoulos, Giannos Kranidiotis, Tassos Papadopoulos, Malvina Karali, Neoklis Sarris, Sarantos Kargakos, Kostas Tsalikidis, Charalampos Ksekoukoulotakis, Panagiotis Bompolas, etc. There have been the genocides, of Tasmanians, Irish, Kenyans, Congolese, American Indians, Cypriots, etc. The perpetrators of the above assassinations remain remorseless and unpunished; and their victims remain not vindicated. The perpetrators of the above genocides remain remorseless and unpunished; and their victims remain not vindicated. The perpetrators of covering-up and whitewashing of the above assassinations and genocides, they seemingly “flourish”. Since, the above assassinations and genocides, they remain covered-up, their perpetrators remain remorseless, unpunished and extremely rewarded and the supply of enthusiastic whitewashers remains vast, then, the perpetuation of innocent human-beings’ assassinations and genocides, becomes inevitable.
